is it possible to allow to guest to use chat

Dear LGforum

good day to all of our members,

is it possible to allow to guest to use chat ?

i mean if any guest visit my forum can use chat under any Pseudonym we can chose it

i hope it can be

But I think yes you can allow guests to join your chat
I'll explain:
firts we have to register users name like [ic]guest1, guest2.... guest9999 ..etc[/ic] with same password [ic]pass_for_guest[/ic]
make all them on groupe called guests from your CP
When guest clicked on "Join chat" a function will post guest name and password [ic] jQuery.post('/login', 'login=1&username=guest'+ Math.floor(Math.random()*max_guest_number)+'&password=pass_for_guest',function(){join_chat_function()})[/ic]

This feature could be nice if add to AVC

Its creative thinking, but once you've made that ajax request to log them in, then they are no longer a guest...

I'll try to describe my conception to this:

1. Register many new users with name [ic]Guest1, Guest2,.....Guest99[/ic] supposed that they 'll have IDs [1501-1600]
   
2. Fire a function on begain of page check if userId is [1501-1600] if so delete ckookie an reload()
   
3. When Guest wants to join chat function will check Guests in chat and post login form silently(without reloading the page reload only the iframe of chatbox)
   
4. get logout link [/ic]function(e){ AWC_gues_logout_link= $(e).find('#logout').attr('href')}[/ic]
   
5. onclose of page fire a function logout [ic]$.get(AWC_gues_logout_link)[/ic]

Taha, in the past I made a widget for my portal. In the widget I used the XAT code, a simple chat you can find on the internet. Some boards do use the same solution now and it works fine, as long as you set security to the widget to be accessable to guests (that way you can also shut down chat when needed, by removing the permissions to guests from the widget).

The widget code looks similar to this one, where $$$$$$$$$ represents the unique XAT ID (number) and ######### represents the unique XAT name of your XAT box

@Mido I'm not sure you understand what LG is saying, since you have these guest1-999 or whatever. You are clearly signing them into an account so now they are no longer guest and have these names of guest[1-999] and technically they can have access to a profile and everything else.

I'm not a fluent exglish speaker mybe this is why I couldn't explain my conception

First We will use Javascript to (login as guset) so if visitor has disabled the js he will not being logged in
Logging in will be fired only if visitor wants to join chat
And he will be loggedout when he closes the chat or page
Precaution1: In eatch page of oure forum we'll use Lgout function for Guests[1-999]
Precaution2: The user groupe called "Guest" has no abilities[post-reply-vote..] in our forum

This is why I can say they are still guests

Well honestly with your concept your looking to just crash your forum. As well as give false member count as you've registered these fake accounts for no apparent reason. Either use an external chat for those guest. Or nothing really. If the guest really want to chat they'll sign up for your website.
