What have you tried so far? There's a very detailed installation guide on chat.avacweb.net if I'm not mistaken.

Is there? Cause like i clicked "get it here" then clicked "install" and followed directions from there, lol although it seemed less detailed than i expected.

Well, what exactly did you try so far? Where did you get stuck on, or what is not working as expected?

What do you mean never changes? Make sure you did not accidently copy and paste the numbers (for the JavaScript code... 1, 2, 3, 4 etc along the side) or AWC wil not install or appear. Such is what happened to me when I first attempted to install awc.

Nah it was the code itself, and what i mean by "never changes" is that it remains as the standard old FM site. (XD even though this thread makes me look like a newb with codes, im well versed in some minor coding XD)

Yeah.. the standard chat will remain unless you hide it/do not display it from the ACP. Do you get the 'chat' pop out button?

It's probably a JavaScript error then.
Can you post your configuration script?

That does seem to be proper JS, can you link me to your forum and tell me if you have other JS installed?

here is the link http://nbtest.forumotion.com/
I am first trying this on a test site before even trying to throw it onto the actual site. However, as for other Jscripts. no there is none, not even on the actual site.

What I meant was hide/do not display the standard chat... ACP-->Modules-->Chatbox-->Configuration--> Display chatbox--> Do not display... save

@Bloodbath .... XD haha my bad i didn't see the little popup part in the lower right corner. i was somewhat expecting it to show where the old chat was.
I only noticed the chat because of @Brandon_g saying to make the chat do not display.
Thank you both XD (totally feeling lame XD)
Also. i was wondering if it was possible to set up chat rooms via member-groups rather than ID

There's no method to fetch the user group, so for now it's not possible to enter say "/g1-" in a tab.
However, I can write a script that gathers all the data from the group pages for you, and you enter that in the configuration file.

That would be a big help. since it would be a bit painstaking to continuously add people to certain chats.

You'd still have to enter the result of the script into your admin panel yourself, but I can make the process of getting the users easy.

I will need to ask you if your actual forum will be phpBB 2 as well, because the group page is different for it.

I was asking if it was phpBB2, but phpBB3 is way better to code for.
I'll come up with something soon, maybe by tomorrow.

Your welcome. Hey I am still very much a newbie. Asking questions does not make you any less skillful or even a newbie. Questions lead to knowledge my friend, and knowledge leads to power. We learn from our mistakes, we learn by asking questions. So it was my pleasure to help in the smal, way I could. Keep asking questions, good luck.

Im curious, is it possible to replace the old FM chat with avacweb chat? Not like making it show up at the bottom right corner where you have to click, but like full on take over the location like at the top of the forums?
