Vertical Latest Topics Marquee integrated with AWC

Hi all!

It's a shame now that I have custom placement AWC shown full screen that I won't be able to keep track of the latest forum topics without changing tabs, so when I was looking for a way to get that part integrated in AWC like a vertical latest topics marquee, I stumbled upon something like this: http://jsfiddle.net/jonathansampson/h7SYp/ . Now you all know I'm not the best at JS coding but I'd like to request something like that in sort a a pop-up when an additional command is entered from the AWC message box or even better: when an additional button sitting at the right hand side of the colors button is hit, just like the other bottom buttons behave.

The vertical scrolling marquee pop-up should be the same style as the for instance existing smileys pop-up found within AWC. When the button is hit, it should hide, like the other buttons do or, when it was shown from the command-line the X should be added to the box so it will be able to close.

I find it difficult to describe in words what I want, but I hope the above sorted it all.

This could be done, but it's quite specific to your needs so I won't be adding it to AWC but I'll be happy to help you get it sorted.
Do you use widgets? And if you do, do you use the recent topics widget?
I ask this because you have the headers and footers in your page (even if they are hidden), so the recent topics widget will be accessible for us.

That 'd be awesome @LGforum! Thanks for your fast response on this. And no, I don't use widgets. Actually I despite having widgets on my forum especially on the index page tbh haha! So, someone made me a custom JS for the recent topics to be shown on my index page without making use of 'm. If you need to see that JS I could probably PM you with it. If you need access to my ws again to have a look again, I'd be happy to set up another account for you with the proper permissions.

What I stumbled upon was just one example of a totality of solutions that can be found of course in my search to have the most recent topics shown because of AWC's full-screen mode using custom placement. One other solution I've been thinking of is to have this done like a plug-in, showing latest topics in the bottom-bar or top-bar within AWC, or just as a bottom line in chat, scrolling from right to left.

Now I saw your excitement in the other topic about the full-screen mode, so don't you want to rethink this recent topics stuff to get it integrated with AWC for all? I mean, just one solution? I think it's a nice idea, but if you say it's quite specific to my needs, I won't ask no further but for myself of course.

Yes I'll take a look at the JS your using if possible.
There is a lot of ways for going about achieving this, but widgets would have been the best way lol, never mind about that anymore though eh! Haha.
