Hi all!

How do I auto reply PMs? I'd like that in case we're on holidays, including our return time and date .... thanks :)

Samantha.

Due to the nature of forumotion, this is hard to achieve, but not impossible. You would have to run a script on your machine which would have to be online the entire time if you're not taking it with you.

Hmm... thanks for looking into that. That would be something nearly impossible for me to achieve and highly impractical, especially at times of long distance flights. I was hoping for a sort of 'out-of-office', or in this case 'out-of-forum', option. That 'd be one for the Suggestions section on Forumotion then I guess. Thanks.

I suppose it could be possible, but not in the sense of you actually replying sending a literal private message. What you could do is create a profile field called "Vacation Status" or something, and have the default be something like "No."

Then, when you click the send private message button have an event trigger where you make an Ajax request to the profile page of that user and check the status of that profile field. If it's anything other than no, have the content of the profile field display in an alert box and prevent the message from sending.
